Ascension CAER (Community Awareness and Emergency Response) is a partnership dedicated to protecting the residents, businesses, and industries of Ascension Parish through emergency preparedness, communication, and community collaboration.

Our organization brings together industrial facilities, local emergency responders, government agencies, and community leaders to ensure that accurate information and coordinated response efforts are available before, during, and after an emergency. By fostering strong relationships among our partners, we help create a safer, better-prepared community for everyone who lives, works, and visits Ascension Parish.

Our mission is to promote public safety by providing reliable emergency communications, supporting emergency preparedness initiatives, and strengthening cooperation between industry, emergency response agencies, and the community.

We believe that informed communities are safer communities. Through education, planning, and communication, Ascension CAER helps residents understand how to prepare for emergencies and what actions to take if an incident occurs.

What We Do?

Emergency Notifications

Ascension CAER utilizes the Everbridge emergency notification platform to deliver timely alerts to residents, businesses, schools, and community partners when an industrial incident or other emergency has the potential to affect the surrounding area. Notifications may be sent by text message, phone call, email, or mobile app, helping people receive important information quickly when it matters most.

Community Preparedness

Preparedness begins long before an emergency occurs. Ascension CAER provides educational resources that help families, businesses, and organizations develop emergency plans, understand shelter-in-place procedures, prepare emergency supply kits, and stay informed during hazardous situations.

Industry Collaboration

Our industrial partners work together to share best practices, improve emergency communication, and coordinate with local emergency management agencies. This collaborative approach helps ensure that accurate information is shared quickly while supporting a unified response during emergencies.

Emergency Response Support
